Protesters, who were predominantly men, waved signs with "Stop the war", "We want to live in peace" and "We want to eat". The historic protest underlines the increasing frustration among Gaza's civilians caught in the midst of an unabating war. The protestors organized through social media network Telegram. Gaza streets echo with 'Hamas Out' chants. Hamas gunmen, some of whom were armed and others baton-wielding, physically broke up the demonstrations, beating several of the protesters in the process, reports.

"I do not know who planned the demonstration," a man named Mohammed explained to media. "I participated in order to send a message on behalf of the people: Enough war." he added that he witnessed "members of Hamas security forces dressed in civilian garb dispersing the demonstration."Majdi, another demonstrator, described the "people are tired". "If the solution is that Hamas gives up power in Gaza, why does Hamas relinquish power in order to defend the people?" he explained, according to the report.
