Will this Holi have competition between two films? READ
Chances are Dhadak 2, and The Diplomat will have a direct competition on box office during Holi weekend

It was announced last year that with Sidhant Chaturvedi and Tripti Dimri in lead, 'Dhadak 2' was initially set to release in November 2024. It was suggested by some reports that it might arrive during Holi weekend this year. However, the recent buzz indicates that film is facing some troubles in securing CBFC certification due to caste related movie theme. But if the film manages to release till Holi, then it will be a direct clash with John Abraham's 'The Diplomat'.
Official clash on Holi
T-series earlier confirmed that 'The Diplomat' will release on 7th March, but now it will hit the theatres on 14th March. If 'Dhadak 2' arrive the theatres during Holi weekend, then it will face a box office competition with a thriller drama on festive week. However, only three weeks are left for Holi, promotions for 'Dhadak 2' haven't started yet.
Intervention of CBFC
Through sources it was revealed that Dhadak 2 delves deep into caste issues with some hard-core narrative. The CBFC's examination committee has appreciated film makers for tackling such a sensitive subject. But is currently reviewing it thoroughly and considering the potential scene cuts due to sensitive content.
Delay regarding release date
Dhadak 2 are prioritizing the completion of the censorship process before beginning promotions, informed by a trade expert. Their aim is to avoid announcing a release date reason being the delays due to certification issues. The film could release if the CBFC grants clearance in time. If everything goes smoothly then the film may release till 14th March or else, it might get postponed.
Is the film facing issues due to its star cast?
An insider of industry asked questions regarding the problems faced by Sidhant and Tripti as the film follows same storyline as Pariyerum perumal, so it should not encounter problems when the original didn't face any obstacles. For those who aren't aware, Dhadak (2018) also had similar theme, depicting a love story between upper-caste girl and a lower-caste boy.
