Urvashi Rautela faces backlash over Game Changer comments: Arrogance or confidence?

Mumbai: Urvashi Rautela faces criticism over her remarks about Game Changer while defending her film Daaku Maharaaj and responds with cryptic posts on social media.

Mumbai: Actress Urvashi Rautela is facing an online backlash after comments she made regarding the box office performance of Game Changer, which stars Ram Charan and Kiara Advani. While speaking with Lehren TV, Urvashi talked about comparisons between her latest film, Daaku Maharaaj, and Game Changer.

"Shankar sir is a very celebrated director. I have worked with him earlier in Indian 2. I think the entire game has changed because Game Changer had a lot of hype," she said.

Urvashi defends Daaku Maharaaj

Claiming that not her film alone, Urvashi said, "If Kiara Advani's Game Changer is a disaster and my Daaku Maharaaj is a blockbuster, then it's not my mistake. I feel, 'Why are these tweets happening?'" She compared the films online, accusing Twitter users of comparing the two, even though Game Changer had done more than ₹120 crore nett in India and Daaku Maharaaj had done ₹70 crore nett within India.

Criticism online rises

Urvashi’s remarks did not sit well with many netizens, who accused her of arrogance. A user commented, “Peak delusion looks like this. It’s only begun, and I’m loving how she’s losing it day after day.” Another wrote, “One hit film and she’s behaving like this? Is she jealous?”

Others mocked her for saying this as it diminished all the effort made behind Game Changer. "What arrogance! It will never be funny to me that all this talent and hard work talk is about Daaku Maharaaj," another said.

Cryptic instagram posts follow backlash

In response to the criticism, Urvashi shared cryptic Instagram stories. "Jealousy from a supreme disaster? Paid PR can't overshadow real talent and hard work," she posted. In another note, she said, "When failure breeds envy, even paid PR can't eclipse genuine success." 

Deleted apology note to Saif Ali Khan

To that end, she recently deleted an apology note to actor Saif Ali Khan over criticism of comments made about an alleged stabbing of him. Her insensitive remarks where she highlighted her diamond-studded jewelry while denouncing the attack left people fuming.
