Tragic end: Rapper juggernaut dies at 32, family claims mental torture by wife led to his death

Odia rapper and engineer Abhinav Singh, known by his stage name 'Juggernaut', was found dead in his Bengaluru apartment in Kadubeesanahalli on February 10, 2025. The 32-year-old reportedly died by suicide by consuming poison. His family alleges that he was subjected to mental harassment by his wife and others, which they believe led to his tragic decision. A case has been registered at Marathahalli police station, and investigations are ongoing.

Abhinav Singh hailed from the Kaligali area in Cuttack and was working as an automation testing engineer with a private firm in Bengaluru. He had recently moved closer to his office. On the morning of his death, when he did not respond to calls, a friend visited his apartment and discovered him unresponsive. An empty poison bottle was found in his bedroom, which he had reportedly purchased online the previous evening.

Following the incident, Singh's father, Bijay Nanda Singh, filed a complaint at Lalbagh police station in Cuttack, accusing his daughter-in-law and several others of mentally torturing his son. The family has demanded a thorough investigation into the circumstances leading to Abhinav's death. Abhinav Singh gained prominence in the Odia rap scene with his track 'Cuttack Anthem', which showcased his lyrical talent and connection to his hometown. His music often blended local cultural elements with contemporary rap styles, addressing social issues and celebrating Odia identity. He collaborated with local artists, such as MC Tor (Tanmay Sahoo), contributing to the growth of the hip-hop movement in Odisha.

In August 2024, Singh faced allegations from Ollywood actress Supriya, who accused him of preventing her from launching a music video and allegedly assaulting her. Additionally, he was involved in an incident at an OYO hotel in Bhubaneswar following a complaint by his wife, leading authorities to seal the hotel where he was staying. Singh denied these accusations, alleging that they were part of a conspiracy against him. The police are currently investigating the case to determine the exact cause of Abhinav Singh's death and the events leading up to it. They are examining all aspects to ascertain whether it was a suicide or if any foul play was involved.
