Entertainement News: India has officially chosen Laapataa Ladies as its entry for the Best International Feature Film category at the 97th Academy Awards. Directed by Kiran Rao and produced by Aamir Khan, the film addresses critical social issues such as gender equality and women's empowerment in rural India.

The film follows the misadventures of two brides who are mistakenly switched during a train journey in 2001, leading to humorous yet thought-provoking scenarios. Starring Pratibha Ranta, Sparsh Srivastava, Nitanshi Goel, and Ravi Kishan, the film brings together a strong cast that delivers a powerful narrative with a satirical edge. Kiran Rao, in her statement, expressed her delight over the film’s selection: "I am deeply honored and thrilled that Laapataa Ladies has been chosen as India’s official entry to the Oscars. This recognition is a reflection of the hard work of my entire team."
