Entertainment News: Ranbir Kapoor marks his 42nd birthday today with exciting news regarding his upcoming projects. Reports indicate that he is in talks to lead the highly anticipated Dhoom 4, a significant reboot in the iconic Bollywood franchise. This film will be notable as Ranbir's 25th cinematic endeavor and is currently under development by YRF's Aditya Chopra.

Dhoom 4: A new chapter

According to sources, discussions about Ranbir's involvement have been ongoing, and he has shown keen interest in participating in Dhoom 4. An insider stated, “The discussions with Ranbir have been going on for the longest time. He had always shown interest to be a part of Dhoom 4 on hearing the basic idea, and is now finally confirmed to lead the franchise. Adi Chopra feels that RK is the ideal choice to carry forward the Dhoom legacy.”

Notably, none of the franchise's previous stars, including Abhishek Bachchan and Uday Chopra, will reprise their roles. Instead, two prominent younger actors will join Ranbir to portray a duo of police buddies in this reboot. The report emphasizes that Dhoom 4 aims to set a new benchmark as a global tentpole feature from Indian cinema.

Looking ahead

The last installment, featuring Aamir Khan and Katrina Kaif, was released in 2013 and became a blockbuster. With the core storyline now finalized, production for Dhoom 4 is anticipated to commence by late 2025 or early 2026.

Ranbir's fans can also look forward to his appearances in Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana and Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Love & War, which stars Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal. Additionally, the sequel to Animal Park is already in the works, ensuring a busy schedule ahead for the celebrated actor.
