Actor Govinda hospitalized after suffering leg injury from own revolver at home before Kolkata trip

Bollywood News: Actor Govinda was rushed to a Mumbai hospital on Tuesday morning following an accidental bullet injury to his leg caused by his own licensed revolver. The incident occurred at his Juhu residence as he was preparing to depart for Kolkata.

Details of the incident

According to reports, Govinda was inspecting his revolver when it accidentally slipped from his grasp and misfired, resulting in a gunshot wound to his leg. His manager, Shashi Sinha, shared details of the incident, noting that the actor had a 6 AM flight scheduled for a show in Kolkata. "Govinda ji was about to leave his residence for the airport when this accident happened," Sinha explained.

Medical condition and recovery

Fortunately, the bullet was successfully removed from Govinda’s leg, and he is currently in stable condition. "He was keeping his licensed revolver in the case when it fell from his hand and a bullet got fired which hit his leg. The doctor has removed the bullet, and his condition is fine. He is in the hospital right now," his manager added. Mumbai Police have confirmed that Govinda's injury is not serious, and he was hospitalized purely as a precautionary measure.

Govinda's response

Following the incident, Govinda expressed gratitude to his fans and the medical team for their support. "With the blessings of you all and my parents, the bullet has been removed. I thank the doctors and you for keeping me in your prayers," he stated. According to Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Dikshit Gedam, no formal complaint has been lodged, and a diary entry will be recorded after statements are taken from the actor's family.
