Aero India 2025: Rajnath singh champions aerospace revolution—big deals on horizon!

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh has expressed his enthusiasm for witnessing the latest advancements in aerospace technology at Aero India 2025, which commenced today in Bengaluru. The event underscores India's commitment to bolstering its defense manufacturing capabilities and increasing defense exports. 

Strength and Self-reliance

In his address, Singh highlighted India's significant progress in defense production, noting that the country's defense manufacturing value is expected to exceed ₹1.25 trillion by the fiscal year ending March 2025. He also projected that defense exports would surpass ₹210 billion during the same period. Singh emphasized the government's dedication to further enhancing these figures in the coming years. 

Showcasing advanced Aircraft

Aero India 2025 features participation from over 150 foreign companies, showcasing advanced aircraft such as the Russian Su-57 and the American F-35 Lightning II. This diverse representation highlights India's ambition to become a central hub for international defense and aerospace collaboration. 
Singh reiterated India's focus on self-reliance in defense manufacturing, citing the Light Combat Aircraft (LCA) Tejas as a prime example. He stated that efforts are underway to achieve 100% indigenization of the Tejas, reflecting the nation's resolve to enhance its defense capabilities through indigenous development. 

Growing aerospace capabilities

The Defence Minister also called for global partnerships to strengthen the aerospace and defense ecosystem, inviting friendly countries and their companies to establish joint ventures in India. He emphasized that such collaborations are essential for collective prosperity and peace, especially in the current global security environment. Aero India 2025 serves as a platform for India to showcase its growing aerospace capabilities and to explore opportunities for international collaboration in defense and aerospace sectors.
