A big news is coming out from Varanasi district of Uttar Pradesh. Here, the meat shops running near the world-famous Kashi Vishwanath temple have been closed. On Friday, action was taken by the Municipal Corporation Administration in this matter. 

According to regional media reports, the municipal administration has sealed 26 shops. Earlier this year, in a meeting of the Kashi Municipal Corporation, it was decided that meat and fish shops would not operate within a radius of 2 km from Vishwanath Temple.

After the proposal was presented in the House meeting of Kashi Municipal Corporation, an order was issued to the administration for action. The Animal and Medical Welfare Officer of the Municipal Corporation, Dr. Ajay Pratap Singh, along with his team, took major action on Friday.

Municipal Corporation took action in these areas

The team started raids on the area's New Road, Benia, Sheikhsalim Phatak, and Sarai Govardhan. During this period, the Municipal Corporation team took illegal action and sealed 26 shops. During this time, there was a stir in the entire city regarding the action. People closed their shops and ran away. 

More action will be taken now

The report said that now no meat, fish, or poultry shop will operate within a radius of 2 km from Kashi Vishwanath Temple. It is also being said that, apart from these areas, similar action will be taken in other areas as well. Before this action was taken by the Municipal Corporation administration, the shopkeepers locked their shops and ran away, after which the team pasted notices on the shutters.
