DDA and ASI to collaborate on renovating three Delhi parks with MoU signing Soon

The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) will redevelop three parks and monuments in the city under the supervision of the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI). Delhi Raj Bhavan issued a statement on Friday giving information about this. The statement said that an MOU for this will be signed between DDA and ASI within the next week.

"In line with the efforts of Delhi Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena to transform the national capital into a City of Heritage, DDA is undertaking, at its own cost, the conservation of Mehrauli Archaeological Park, Sanjay Van and Shalimar Bagh under the overall supervision of ASI," the Delhi Raj Bhavan statement said. Will work for rejuvenation and redevelopment.

It said the three parks owned by the DDA contain several ASI-protected monuments, which were lying in a state of neglect till now. The statement said that the basic work, including drawing, planning and resource mobilisation, has already started. The Union Culture Ministry has handed over Dilli Chalo, Ghata Masjid, Urdu Academy and Sadbhavna Park behind the Red Fort to DDA for rejuvenation and redevelopment.
